Mmm I suppose I should post a really real blog post once in a while right? So. Life.
It's been getting me down a little I won't lie.
I guess I've been dwelling on things I have no control over. Stupid.
Like why it seems like guys don't like me. And why all these people I've grown up, who are in relationships, are suddenly getting engaged or married.
I'm left behind.
I even feel left behind in my own family. Not that anyone else it dating but everyone else has been asked out on dates more than my 1 time. Hmpf.
I need to get out there in the world but at the same time I really don't want to either.
It's like I'm getting stretched into 2 directions. Stop and drop everything and just leave and go anywhere. Or stay and see where I am after I finish school.
And school. It feels like my friends and sisters always have nothing to do and I'm doing all this work for my classes. I guess that's the joy of being an English major... but really? Not even one paper or test to study for? I know Heather does actually do a lot of studying and Monica too but other than them it's rare that I see anyone else in our group actually doing something school related.
STEAM.
I have to say that it felt so good to just screw over my paper for Monday to have a Girls Night Out with my mom and go shopping for 1 1/2 or so hours. I don't get out enough as it is and I think I've been really depressed lately because of this. And other above stated reasons. So it felt to just spend money on myself.
2 more papers left before exams. 1 on Monday then I can slack (minus weekly comment papers <_< and reading for classes) until Easter break to work on my last paper. Speaking of Easter I was nominated to play bass for our Good Friday service since the regular bassist is on his Spring Break that week.
And and and. BOO. My last final is on my birthday T_T Super sad. Good thing its a Friday.
And I need a haircut again.

Books aren't for the weak.
Jane Eyre is actually like my favourite book now. No joke. The writing is fantastic and all the references to other literature and sayings are amazing. Kudos to Charlotte Bronte
As much as I like Jane Austen's hero's (though I find her writing a bit dry), Mr.Rochester seems much more real. Everything from him not being a stock hero of being handsome and dashing and having a fantastic personality, yes, he is rather not handsome though he has a way with his words and is quite often in a sour mood (when we first meet him in the book) and his mood changes often enough to give him a real personality.
The book actually evokes feeling; anger, helplessness, happiness, sadness, joy, anger within sorrow, contentment. It swells the heart and tugs the heartstrings.

This is pretty much how I thought Mr. Rochester would look, give or take, maybe slightly older. For the adaptations I have to say that the BBC 2006 Mr.Rochester is the closest and that the 1996 (?) Jane are the closest in terms of what the characters I thought should look like. Ellen Page was originally suppose to be in a movie version but she is no longer tied to it (Too bad because she is like the perfect Jane - short (like she's suppose to be) and plain yet pretty).

I want to know why there is suddenly a huge hole in my bank account.
And I mean after I paid my school fees. And my insurance already got payed for. There should be at least 100 or 200 dollars in there that isn't. What the frick just happened?

WOOO.
First post of the new year!
Today was the first day of classes. Oh man.
1) Shakespeare = love. I could care less that I barely know the people in that class that I know. It's freaking Shakespeare. And as my prof put it he is greater than Chaucer. Haha!
2) History scares me. It's a freaking intro class and that prof is making it seem like a 400 level. Seriously. Ugh. BUT if I'm lucky the cute guy who sits in front and to the side of me will not have dropped out of that class. *fingers crossed*
3) (Religion) Christian History scares me. We have to do a one page writing assignment every week. Do profs think that we have nothing better to do and have money spilling out of our many pores? Do they not think that some people are actually living on their own trying to make money to go to school AND pay for rent AND food? Give us a break and at least cut it down to every other week.
4) English tomorrow. But I have Tawnya and Sarah B. in that class with me so its all good.
Uh. Yes. I would say more but people are always watching >_>
SWITCHFOOT IN JUST OVER A WEEK. BOO YEAH.

UGH.
Hey Mr. Right can you be right now?
Seriously why is everyone I know hooking up. Soon I'm going to be blasting Kelly Clarkson on my car stereo. 'Oh, no, I do not hook up, up. I go slow.'
Amen?
And babies? Another person I know is going to have a baby.
And weddings. I know 3 people my age-ish who are practically engaged. Probably more. Bahhhhhhh.
God help me.
Or at least leave this emptiness in the snow and fill it with yourself! I don't want love if its lust or love if its not forever. I want to do everything right once. Because I've been through enough not to want to go through it twice and come out alive on the other side. Keep my eyes focused on you and your will for me. Take away this want and help me feel genuine happiness for these people. Not contempt. Jesus you need to be the center of it all and that's where I need to aim when I fall. Your love not something the world slaps a label on and tells me I need to have and show and be. This is for you in me. Amen.

"Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?"

Coffee Grinds
It's raining again. Ah how calming.
Yet The Fly From Hell (numero cuatro) is flying around my head dive bombing me every chance it gets when it decides it would rather not go to the light.
Anyways... school. Ah yes school. Back into the daily grind (I always think of coffee whenever I hear that). I already have way more classes then I had last year. Okay fine, another class plus a private music lesson. Woah.
I think I should be freaking out waaaaaay more then I should be with all these classes, new faces (well a good freaking lot of new ones), more work, higher expectations, and profs hoping for people to share their ideas every single moment of the class' proximity.
Yet I'm not. I actually feel quite at ease with the number of classes (it just feels weird being at school for so long), I feel like I should make some new friends (or connections ;D but really I just don't want to be lonely and if they're in the same program and for the same length I'm going to see them for another two years), I feel like the work won't be a problem (if I finally stop procrastinating since I know the due date from the beginning of the term), and I feel like I can finally just voice my thoughts whether right or wrong (well, hopefully my spoken thoughts will be the right ones...). The only thing I feel like I am freaking out at is the higher expectations. Yeah maybe I am a _____ major. But that doesn't mean I freaking care about it to the point of dying (well maybe that's just me and yo would die for it)
I don't know. I think I'm a little stressed from work too though. I don't want to work there any longer. But with the economy in the shape it is now I'm lucky to have this job giving me any money (got my paycheck tonight ;D). But does anyone know of any place that is hiring and may be desperate enough to hire someone (aka: me)?
I'm looking forward to youth group/ college and careers. It's a combination of the two now... so is it maybe called young adults group???? I'm getting ready to pick some songs for the first worship night. PETER: you should come to (whatever we're deciding to call it) and help lead singing! The few guys we have would be way more likely to sing (I'm thinking) if there's another guy who's actually leading singing.....
Right-o. Beam me up Scotty. There ain't no intelligent life down here.

Things, Oh Marvelous Things!
I'm house sitting in two weeks starting Saturday.
The dog that's there (that I can say I am dog sitting, haha) only understands Spanish. Excellent chance to practice and not get lip back. Bwa hahaha!
School starts in T-minus 3 weeks (from tomorrow). Semester ends in T-minus 3 months and 3 weeks.
First it was all babies popping up in our church, now it's weddings! Craziness!
Tasha's wedding is in a month's (give a few days) time!!!! And then Jessica from church is engaged! And it will be no time before Anna's engaged, I'm sure. And what about Mark and his girlfriend? Yeah, soon enough, soon enough. There's going to be no singles left to talk to soon *insert scream face* Horror of horrors!!!!

This Life Here
So maybe, just maybe I should actually update anyone who actually does read this blog about my life, huh? Wait two minutes as I actually go back in time and try to find my last blog update about my life and update from there.
Okay. Two similar updates. One after each other. March 16th and April 6th. Check 'em out if you need a quick refresher.
Short things: hair cut = love. reading more books = forgot how much I love to read. slowly writing more songs = wish I had more inspiration lately. sarah coming back = amazing. no joke. i've missed her so much and haven't seen her in a year and a half. is it a wonder i've missed her?
Okay, longer things: school has been done since mid-April. LOVE IT. High school is a complete joke and waste of time compared to University. You avoid the drama, live your live, schedule your schedule how you want (for the most part depending on classes) and so on. 2nd year? No more Sociology EVER. No more night classes. More freedom. Love, love, love. I have a bit of a problem with one of my music classes so I have to figure out how to rearrange my schedule without changing my minor. Pain in the butt because I think I figured out what to do but I have to pay a nice large sum of money for that. Ugh. Per Semester = double ugh. Worth it? I'll find out after this year.
So, next thing. Life seems like I'll have more freedom. More time for friends. I expect only to work what I worked last year which was 3 times/ 4 times a week absolute max. With every evening free this year (minus Friday's) it is a super bonus for me!
Work is dragging on and on. I am in the process of looking for a new job but in the recession my hopes aren't that high and I'll continue to hold the job I have right now.
My summer vacation is pretty much over though, in terms of good times and not work. Worked a week out at camp that was rewarding and then went to BC the next week. Good times.
Love life? Bah whatever. Nothing's happening there right now and it's not progressing at any speed. Which may just be a good thing. We'll see what happens this coming year.
Surprises are in store, that's for sure. Good and Bad. For Better, For Worse.
Youth Group seems like it's shaping up to be a good year. I am so stoked for it already. I talked to Mr.T (the head youth leader, duh) with an idea I had for the first YG kickoff. Stoked about that if it happened. I totally wish! But I should put it past Brandi too and see what she thinks since she's doing the planning. Speaking of the planning, she has asked Mel, Steph, and me to do music for the worship aspect. STOKED GUYS. I have like a billion charts floating around so even if it was just an acoustic set sometimes. I really like it because this way I can improve my playing and if we have just a piano some nights, I would still be singing so an excellent way to improve that and get more comfortable singing in front of people!!!
I have an exciting idea in regards to YG but I have yet to ask the person yet about some circumstances. We'll see...?
Tasha's home for the year and Matt is coming on September 1st! So I get to meet him at church on the 6th and then their wedding on the following Sunday!!!! Ah! Matt's going to Carmel for the year. So I guess we get to get use to him for a year. I wonder if Tasha and Matt will come to some YG events???
Anyways it's almost 1 o'clock in the morning. Guess I shouldn't have had that 2 hour nap this afternoon. Haha oops.
